The specification is issued pursuant to paragraph 1 of Article 42 of the Telecommunications Acts.

The specifications are applicable to DS1 terminal equipment that is intended to connect with the Public Switched Telecommunications Network. Also, the specifications apply to manufacturers, importers, distributors and private user.
